~ FOR OUR PUPPERS ~
Olde, he was, and failing fast;
His tenure nearly through. Deep down we knew he couldn't last. We think he knew it, too. His soft brown eyes were 'oft confused; He stumbled now and then. Yet, love was always in his heart, Our gray-muzzled little friend. |
His appetite erratic,
His hearing rather dim; He moved with great deliberance And stiffness in his limbs. Yet still he filled our days With his special happiness and grace; His eyes were ardent beacons In an olde and handsome face. |
He sleeps now, in the springtime sun;
Wildflowers sown upon on his grave,
Remembered with the bittersweet memories
Of all the joy he gave.
Wildflowers sown upon on his grave,
Remembered with the bittersweet memories
Of all the joy he gave.
